Just another World Mental Health Day?
Awareness days usually come and go without any real change for individuals and/or companies.
If you or your company become aware of a certain issue regarding mental health you want to address or prioritise, and you want this year to be different, answer the following questions:
1. what is your best hopes for yourself (or your company) in terms of mental health?
2. Rephrase, if necessary, to the presence of something, rather than the absence of something. Example: instead of saying I don’t want to be (absence) stressed, you say I want to be (presence) calm and collected.
Suppose some time after reading this you (or your company) are just one step closer on your way to your best hope,
3. what is the very first thing you (or your employees/employer/colleagues) would notice that would let you know
that that you have moved one step closer to your best hope / that there is a change?
4. What else may you notice? Name at least 5 things.
5. What would the person who knows you best notice to let him/her know that something is different / that that you
have moved one step closer to your best hope?
6. What personal (or company/team) skills, resources, strengths and traits can you draw on to enable you to move
one step closer to your best hope?
7. What would it mean to you (or your employees/employer/colleagues) if you can move one step closer to your best
hope?
In the following days and weeks, look out for any small signs or clues as mentioned in number 3-6 that is an indication to you that you are moving one step closer to your best hope.
If you want to explore this process further you can make an appointment for psychological counselling.
