How Therapy Works

Initial Meeting

You have the option of a free 15-minute online consultation with me, Henning Gericke, where we can discuss your background, determine if I can address your concerns, and assess whether online sessions are suitable for your needs. This is also an opportunity for you to get a sense of whether we’d be a good fit.

If anxiety and/or depression are your primary concerns, the initial consultation is mandatory and will last approximately 30 minutes to ensure we approach your situation with the appropriate care.

Online Sessions

  • Platform: My preferred video platform is Google Meet, but if this isn’t suitable for you, let me know, and we can explore alternatives.

  • Session Duration: Each session lasts approximately 50 minutes.

  • Privacy & Environment: Please choose a quiet, private space for our sessions to ensure a focused and comfortable experience.

Time Zone Considerations

I am based in South Africa (GMT+2). Please take this into account when scheduling sessions and expecting responses.

Payment Options

Once you have booked your session / paid for an event or download, you can Add it to your Cart and at checkout you can choose to pay via Paypal or credit card or EFT via Yoco.

Fees & Medical Aid

The Fee for South African citizens living in South Africa is R650 a session (+/- 50min). South Africans can also do EFT's.

South Africans with medical aid: The counsellor can claim directly from the medical aid. However, it remains the client's responsibility to determine whether his/her medical aid (and specific plan) covers counselling ( procedure code: 81305, counselling 51-55min), whether he/she has medical aid benefits left for counselling, and for how many sessions. The client must pay any outstanding fees in case of partial/non-payment by the medical aid.

International clients: Please contact me for the relevant fees.

Adjusting to Online Therapy

If you're new to online interaction, it may take a session or two to get used to the format. However, in my five years of experience providing virtual counselling, most people adapt quickly. In many cases, online therapy is even more convenient or the only viable option, especially for those living in remote areas, dealing with mobility issues, or experiencing social anxiety.

You don’t have to go without support—give online therapy a try, contact Henning Gericke!
