Teens & Young Adults Counselling
Adolescence and young adulthood are critical phases of life, filled with transitions, challenges, and self-discovery. Whether you're a teenager, student, or young adult, you may find yourself struggling with academic pressure, identity issues, family conflict, or emotional difficulties. Counselling provides a space where you can explore these challenges, develop resilience, and work toward the future you envision for yourself.
Supporting Resistant Teens & Engaging Young Adults
Counselling is often initiated by parents, but for therapy to be effective, adolescents and young adults must feel that their own needs are being addressed. My approach fosters cooperation by:
-
Finding goal outcomes that align with both the teenager’s and parents’ expectations
-
Engaging with the best version of the adolescent
-
Guiding the individual toward their preferred future
-
Encouraging hope-filled conversations that empower and motivate
A Safe and Supportive Space for Growth
Teenagers and young adults experience a range of emotional, social, and psychological challenges. Anxiety, depression, self-esteem struggles, peer pressure, and family dynamics can all take a toll. Through a solution-focused therapy approach, I help young people build on their strengths, discover practical solutions, and regain a sense of control over their lives.
Why Work With Me?
For 15 years, I worked predominantly with teens in a high school setting, helping them navigate academic pressures, social conflicts, and emotional well-being. Additionally, for 6 years, I dedicated a significant part of my practice to working with university students, guiding them through the complexities of young adulthood, independence, and career choices. My extensive experience allows me to understand and address the unique needs of adolescents and young adults effectively.
Tailored Counselling for Lasting Change
Each teenager and young adult is different, and therapy should reflect that. My approach is not one-size-fits-all; rather, it is tailored to the individual’s personality, strengths, and challenges. Whether you are a student feeling overwhelmed, a resistant teen struggling with parental expectations, or a young adult navigating independence, my role is to help you find clarity, build confidence, and create a path forward.
